Shaw Lodge was once the home of John Holdsworth & Co, the world’s leading producer of moquette, a transport seating fabric. Ambitious plans were prepared, and planning permission was secured for an urban village totalling almost 50,000 m² of mixed-use accommodation including houses, apartments, offices, a hotel, a medical centre and ancillary retail and restaurant uses. The complex is grade II* listed and is a wonderful collection of mill buildings.

The first phase refurbishment of Shaw Lodge House was completed during 2010 to create a range of offices for the small business and start-up market.

The site was sold in mid 2014 and the project is now being progressed by others.
