Derby’s Highly Anticipated First Build-To-Rent Development Reveals Summer 2023 Launch Date
The UK’s largest listed provider of private rental homes, Grainger plc, has announced its first build-to-rent development in Derby (and the first of its kind in the city), The Condor, will be operational from July with viewings available from July.
Located on the former Debenhams site on Victoria Street, The Condor, named to celebrate one of the first engines built by Rolls Royce in 1918, Rolls-Royce Condor III, will provide 259 new build-to-rent apartments comprising a mix of stylish studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
The Condor has been designed to celebrate Derby with interiors taking inspiration from the city’s engineering excellence, silk manufacturing, right through to The Derby Ram symbol.
Nods to the famed Rolls-Royce aircraft engine can be seen in the form of metal work, with dynamic shapes, mechanical features, and industrial accents throughout the development. Spiral forms also subtly nod to the iconic Derby Ram horns.
Within the resident’s lounge and co-working space, slate-grey and rich green soft furnishings with silk textures, create soft, inviting, and comfortable spaces, in addition to artwork which displays Derby’s famed mosaic street art.
The Condor offers a private dining room and kitchen area complete with cooking facilities, which residents can book to host dinner parties with friends and family, in addition to a 2,185sq ft roof terrace.
Complete with tree planting and greenery, the external rooftop provides residents with a space to celebrate the great outdoors – enjoy a picnic or read a book in the sunshine, whilst bringing nature into the heart of the development.
